The pioneering spirit that explorers like Lewis and Clark embodied is being kept alive in Omaha, Nebraska, by drivers on the Spark Driver app. Among these drivers is Bintou Coulibaly, who is determined to create a better life for her family.

She found out about the app through a family friend who mentioned that she loved that she was able to still earn money while prioritizing her children’s needs when they were sick or wanted to go have a playdate with friends.

This flexible opportunity peaked Bintou’s curiosity, and she decided to trade in her scrubs and sign up for the Spark Driver app to have more say over how she spends her time. She has been driving on the platform for about a year and a half and is thrilled to have more opportunities to spend time with her young kids and play with them outside or at a local park. She enjoys being her own boss as she can earn cash around school pick up and drop off times and take her son home at the end of the day without having the worries of a traditional job about leaving early.

She says, “Every day is different. Sometimes I deliver for eight hours, sometimes four hours, depending on how busy I am. I don’t deliver every day, and I used to deliver on other platforms, but I stopped because the earnings with Spark Driver are better.”

Fulfilling orders has allowed Bintou to give back to the community in a meaningful way. She loves being able to make customers happy and chat with them about any substitutions they would like to see made to their Walmart order.

Her biggest piece of advice for prospective drivers is to always be friendly and deliver orders with a smile. Bintou’s change-maker attitude has brought so much joy to customers, and we are honored to announce her as one of the winners of the June 2024 Make it Spark! giveaway.

Bintou says, “I happened to answer my call that I had won. I couldn’t believe it. I was happy, and I wasn’t delivering that day. I ended up dancing around the house. The feeling was like something I cannot even explain.”

We hope Bintou and her family enjoys their free year of groceries and gets her even closer to her personal goal of going back to nursing school!

Make it Spark! is a biannual event that aims to recognize and thank drivers on the Spark Driver™ platform for their commitment to always providing exceptional service to customers of Walmart and our retail partners.
